Announcing a New, Electrifying Dance Partnership

September 2024 – SouL Dance Studio, Southwest Florida's premier dance studio known for ballroom and ballet instruction, proudly announces the exciting new professional partnership of Sanda Lungu and Kakha Turiashvili. With decades of combined professional experience, international accolades, and shared passion for excellence in dancesport, the partnership promises to bring a fresh and dynamic impact to the competitive ballroom dancing world.

Known for their captivating and sultry styles in Latin categories, the new duo has already begun lighting up the dance floor all across the country with their unique choreography and artistry. Beginning in March 2024, they have since competed in international open and rising star Latin categories, achieving recognition for their captivating performances. It won't take long for their competitive spirit and extensive expertise to lift SouL Dance Studio to the international stage.

On their new partnership, Lungu says, "Once you're on the competition floor, surrounded by a cheering audience, with the judges behind you, the lights, and all the other dancers, you feel the adrenaline and your own breath. And with your partner sharing that breath, you'll always want to be there."

Kakha couldn't agree more, "Happiness is to find the perfect dance partner and to move to sunny Florida!"

Both Sanda and Kakha have a combined 42 years of experience in professional dancing. While Sanda began her career in ballet at the age of 5 in Chisinau, Moldova, Kakha began his ballroom journey at the age of 17.

Originally from Rustavi, Georgia, Kakha started competing within six months of his original training. He quickly earned multiple titles in Georgian competitions. Later, he moved to Turkey, where his international career took off. He performed in many professional events, competing in the prestigious Georgian Cup and Caucasus Cup.

After relocating to the U.S. in 2015, Kakha became a top-tier instructor at Dance With Me in Connecticut. From 2016 to 2024, he built a considerable Pro/Am academy, partnering with his students to compete in the Pro/Am category in the United States and abroad. He's been so successful as a teacher that he's won the Top Teacher award for seven years in a row at the Ohio Star Ball, First Coast Classic, Grand Nationals, Constitution State Dancesport, Paragon Dancesport, and Tri-State Championships.

Needless to say, he is a highly sought-after instructor for competitive ballroom dancers.

Sanda Lungu is the owner of SouL Dance Studio. She brings over 15 years of professional dance experience to the partnership. As a graduate of the prestigious Professional Ballet Academy in Chisinau, Moldova, Sanda has trained with some of the most renowned ballet companies in Eastern Europe and the United States. She has performed with iconic groups such as the National Ballet Theatre of Moldova, the Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker, and the St. Petersburg Festival Ballet.

Since moving to the U.S. a decade ago, Sanda has worked extensively in ballroom dancing, leading to her role as owner and lead instructor at SouL Dance Studio in sunny Sarasota, Florida, where she inspires the next generation of dancers.

Notably, Sanda's most recent accomplishments have been at the First Coast Classic Dancesport where both of her students took home first-place honors in Theatre Arts and Top Male Newcomer.
