SouL Dance Studio Announces Performance with Endedans Contemporary Ballet
Sanda Lungu, owner of SouL Dance Studio, will be performing in a unique contemporary ballet as a special preview event for Sarasota Rising. This exclusive show choreographed by Tania Vergara Perez, founder of ECB, will be held at Art Ovation Hotel with a private performance on November 12th.
Sarasota, FL, October 15, 2023: Professional ballet artist Sanda Lungu joins the Endedans Contemporary Ballet team and the creative mastermind of Tania Vergara Perez in a contemporary theatrical performance to be held this fall at Art Ovation Hotel as a preview of Sarasota Rising’s 2024 Living Arts Festival.
There is no better celebration of the ethos behind the new festival than the combination of Vergara’s creative Cuban dance roots and Lungu’s Eastern European ballet heritage. With over 30 years of professional ballet experience, Vergara brings a powerful assemblage of classical, modern, and contemporary ballet choreography to the canvas of this performance.
The event will surely be a tour de force, weaving together “elements of acting, sounds, speech, and movement,” according to performer Sanda Lungu. Accompanied by spoken word and Mozart, the contemporary dance is called “Occupational Therapy.” The piece “explores the possibilities offered by different everyday objects used as scenic elements,” according to choreographer Tania Vergara Perez, founder of Endedans Contemporary Dance, named Best New Dance Company in 2023 by Sarasota Magazine.
Lungu says, “Tania's choreography offers a delightful and invigorating departure from what I'm used to. Witnessing her creativity and originality has been fascinating. Contributing to Tania’s creation and sharing the stage with such talented and genuinely wonderful fellow dancers is truly a memorable experience.”
Ticket sales and follow-on dates have yet to be announced, but an invitation-only performance will take place on November 12th at the Art Ovation Hotel in downtown Sarasota.
