Hello SouL Dance Family!

It's sizzling hot here in Sarasota, but don't worry, the studio is airconditioned! Here's a sneak peak of what's on tap:

• We've had some great guest coaching sessions in May and June that are continuing next month!
• Group classes for July are Intermediate Foxtrot and Advanced Mambo.
• New Kids Classes for Tuesdays!

Plus! We've moved our Salsa and Bachata classes back to Lakewood Ranch for Thursday nights!

Guest Coaching with Marianne Nicole-DePalma

Last month we had the privilege of having Marianne Nicole-DePalma in house. Marianne is a world-renowned champion dancer in three categories:

• United States Rising Star American Style Champion,
• Undefeated United States Theatre Arts Champion,
• North American International Latin Champion,
• Canadian Theatre Arts Champion,
• Undefeated Fred Astaire American Style Champion,
• Undefeated Fred Astaire Theatrical Champion,
• Undefeated Fred Astaire International Latin Champion,
• World Latin Representative.

She's also a world-class adjudicator and coach! Our students had an amazing opportunity to learn one-on-one with her. And the best news is, she is continuing with us for private and group lessons in August!

We've also got a few new students to welcome to our SouL Dance family. Robert is our resident retired tennis coach! Smilte comes from Luxembourg, and Gabe from here in Sarasota! We're so excited to share your passion for dancing!

Group Dance Classes for July

Monday Classes

***Please note that we are no longer offering group classes at Sara Dance Center. All our classes will be held at the Lakewood Ranch location from now on.***

But don't worry! We've got you covered on Thursdays for Salsa and Bachata at our Lakewood Ranch location. See the details below!

Tuesday Classes

Tuesday mornings in July we'll be continuing our kid's dance classes focusing on acro, ballet, and ballroom. It's a fantastic way to get your son or daughter involved in something creative, healthy, and rewarding. This builds a perfect foundation for other sports and hobbies.

It's summer! Let's get the kids out of the house and moving!

In the evening, join us for our July Foxtrot group classes. If you've never experienced Foxtrot, it's a very sassy, jazzy, and fun ballroom dance. Come as a couple or come by yourself, it doesn't matter. We'll have a great time learning this smooth dance together.

Musically, Foxtrot is often danced to songs in the genres of jazz, big band swing, or traditional pop. Some examples of artists and bands whose music is suitable for foxtrot include Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé, and Nat King Cole. The music should have a smooth and flowing rhythm that complements the elegant and graceful movements of the foxtrot dance.

Wednesday Classes

Mambo is a lively Latin dance originated in Cuba. It is celebrated for its vibrant rhythms, energetic dance moves, and its role in spreading Latin American music and culture worldwide.

You'll need some experience for this class, as we will be teaching an advanced progressive pattern. However, you will leave with a mini routine in your repertoire.

It's a hot dance with a playful and passionate feel that will leave you wanting more!

Thursday Classes

We have moved our Salsa and Bachata group class series to Thursday nights! Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced dancer, you'll find this class to be fun and progressive, building on our knowledge from previous weeks.

Shine a Spotlight on Scott Brookes!

We've been super busy with competitions in June! Last month at the Ft. Lauderdale Classic 2024 Scott took home the Top Newcomer Male Award! Additionally, he placed 3rd in the Closed American Smooth and Rhythm Men's Challenge, then 2nd place in the Closed American Smooth Scholarship!

Scott has been working tirelessly. We are so proud of his accomplishment and all the hard work that went into this remarkable achievement.

He was a top 10 student at this event! Scott, you continue to inspire us all!
