🏆🏆 SouL Dance Studio Receives Multiple Awards at First Coast Classic! 🏆🏆
St. Augustine, FL, March 10, 2024: Professional ballroom instructor and choreographer Sanda Lungu led a team of three dancers to the First Coast Classic DanceSport Championships in sunny St. Augustine, Florida, over the weekend.
Two of her students, John Hartter and Scott Brookes, took home top honors for their performances with Lungu, earning 1st Place in the Theatre Arts category and Top Male Newcomer award, respectively.
“I am over the moon with joy and pride,” Lungu says regarding her students’ performances. “We have worked extremely hard for many months on these routines, and to receive such recognition is an amazing honor!”
Scott Brookes, a local commercial insurance professional, started dancing as a fun hobby just last year. After trying a few lessons from local instructors, he settled with Sanda at SouL Dance and began learning everything from Bachata and Rumba to Tango and Cha-cha.
“It was a fun and exciting weekend. The entire crowd was very supportive and helpful,” says Brookes of the event in St. Augustine. “When they announced my name, I was shocked. I just sat there until someone said, ‘That’s you!’”
In addition to the accolades the SouL Dance team received at First Coast Classic, another of Lungu’s choreographed routines was performed at the event by a student from Atlantic Ballrom located in Jacksonville, Florida.
About SouL Dance Studio: Sanda Lungu owns and operates SouL Dance Studio in Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch. She has over 20 years experience in professional dance training, performance, and choreography. Sanda graduated from the Professional Ballet Academy (Colegiul National de Coregrafie) in Chisinau, Moldova, and has also trained at several prominent dance schools and companies in Eastern Europe and the United States.
